Summary
DescriptionSeal of the United States Army Military Intelligence Corps.svg
English: This is an SVG version of the seal of the United States Army Military Intelligence Corps, self-published by me. The original version was created by the United States Army Institute of Heraldry and is in the public domain as a production of the United States Army.
Official description: The Intelligence Device includes a shield, the shape of which replicates that of the 1921 MI Officers Reserve Corps and includes representations of the insignias of the 1952 MI Reserve and Army Security Reserve Branches, as well as the current MI Branch. The colors on the shield represent those of infantry, armor, and artillery and allude to MI’s support to those combat arms. Finally, the Dragoon helmet on top of the shield and the date 1776 refer to the establishment of the 2d Continental Dragoons and one of that unit’s commanders—Maj. Benjamin Tallmadge—and his role as George Washington’s intelligence chief during the American Revolution.
