Plastic model on plastic base, Topping Models, early 1960s, wingspan 11 1/4 inches, fuselage 8 1/4 inches, 8 inches tall, Base reads: "XC-142A Tri-Service / V/TOL / LTV - LING - TEMCO - Vought, inc. / Hiller-Ryan," with Topping label. An ultra-detailed model of this experimental triservice tiltwing cargo aircraft that was designed to investigate vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) transports. The wings on this model tilt and the propellers turn.
