Incident Summary

On March 20, 2025, a Eurocopter EC 130T2 operated by Kallax Flyg AB was involved in a fatal accident due to a sudden avalanche during a heliskiing expedition near Abisko, Sweden. The aircraft was parked on the ground and unoccupied when the avalanche struck. Two fatalities occurred, both Italian nationals.

The aircraft was stationed on the ground during a heliski operation when a sudden avalanche swept over the area. Though the pilot was outside and uninjured, two passengers—Italian nationals—were caught and later confirmed deceased. Mountain rescue operations located the victims and airlifted them to Tromsø, Norway, where death was pronounced. Authorities are conducting a legal and procedural review.
